Process

How a long-form edit works

Five passes from raw recording to upload files, with review points where changes are cheapest.

  1. Brief and quote. You share the footage link and the brief. We check the footage, ask about anything unclear, and send a written quote with the scope, revision rounds and a delivery date. Work starts when you accept it.
  2. Assembly. We sync camera and audio, pick the best take of every line, and lay the whole thing out in order. Nothing is polished yet.
  3. Chapter plan. From the assembly we draw the chapter ring: where each section starts, how long it runs, where b-roll goes and where the end screen sits. You see it with a short note before we cut further.
  4. Fine cut. Pacing, b-roll, graphics and music go in. You review on a link and leave comments at exact timestamps.
  5. Finish and delivery. Color, a final sound mix, corrected captions and the chapter list, checked against the locked cut. Then the files go out.

Why we plan chapters early

A chapter plan is a cheap moment to catch structural problems. If the setup runs six minutes before anything useful happens, the ring shows it. If one chapter covers three topics, it shows that too. Fixing structure in the assembly takes minutes. Fixing it after graphics and captions are in place takes much longer and costs more.

Reviews and changes

Each review happens on a link where you can leave notes at an exact moment, so feedback points at a frame rather than a description of one. The quote states how many rounds are included. Extra rounds, or changes of direction after the fine cut, are priced before we do them.

Regular uploads

For a channel on a schedule, the first video sets the template and the style sheet. After that, each video follows the same passes with less setup, and we agree a regular delivery day that fits when you record.
